Robotic's Project: Building a Drone

The project will enrich the participant's understanding of drones. They will develop skills in CAD, Computer Vision, and programming. They will undertake training in their field and succeed in building an operational drone. They will have to use a program to calibrate, monitor, and prepare the drone to fly. They will have to design and print parts of the drone using a 3D printer.

Goals:

  • To work with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) in the context of robot design.

  • To learn DFM (Design for Manufacture).

  • To acquire an overview of 3D printing with practical printing of CAD models.

  • To approach Computer Vision programming using OpenCV (Open Computer Vision library).

Practical activities:

  • Learn a range of flying manoeuvres.

  • Fundamentals of safety and techniques for a successful flight.

  • Fault diagnostic and repair.

Advantages:

  • Gain knowledge of drone operations.

  • Insight into practical problem-solving.

  • Development of skills in CAD and 3D printing.

  • Improve social and creative skills.

  • Enhance problem-solving skills and develop research skills.
