STEM4GIRLS
To improve the interest and engagement of young European girls in STEM, develop their competencies, and ultimately contribute to the increase in the number of women working in STEM sectors. We offer you a course to introduce middle and high school girls to a broad range of STEM subjects. The students will learn the principles of software engineering and programming languages by being introduced to Poppy, an open-source robotics platform based on 3D printing that is used as a tool for teaching.
Goals:
-
To work with CAD (Computer Aided Design) in the context of robot design.
-
To learn DFM (Design for Manufacture).
-
To acquire an overview of 3D printing with practical printing of CAD models.
-
To approach Computer Vision programming using OpenCV (Open Computer Vision library).
-
To learn Robotics programming with ROS (Robot Operating System).
-
To be trained in Industrial robot programming.
