A group of Italian teachers from the school Liceo Dalmazia - Istituto Gesú Nazareno of Rome visited some schools in Barcelona ( Spain ) to undertake a training on Service- Learning methodology.
Service- Learning is a form of teaching that combines instruction with meaningful community service experiences.
The participants spent 3 days job shadowing their Spanish colleagues. They have been introduced to the new educational approach and they learned about the different activities in which these schools are engaged in order to allow students to interact with the local communities.
During their stay they enjoyed sightseeing Barcelona city center, and visiting its beautiful attractions such as Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera and Parque Guell designed by the popular Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. They also appreciated exploring Barcelona restaurants and were able to try some typical tapas.
Through this Erasmus experience in Barcelona all the participants had the opportunity to exchange best practises and learn new methodologies. They also expanded their knowledge by travelling abroad and networking by meeting teachers in their fields.
